Hi, hope you are well. I wanted you to know that for the past few months I have been filming scenes for season four of the hit HBO television series, “The Gilded Age.” I am a background player, meaning I help establish the visual feel and emotional tone of a shot. I work closely with the assistant director to initiate action and help the leading actors feel integrated into a scene. Shooting continues until late July.
Being a featured extra (I speak some lines) is fun but physically grueling, with days lasting 10-14 hours. I wear 5 layers of undergarments for the role, including a corset which shrinks my waist 3 full inches. It is difficult to sit or eat while in the corset. My hair and makeup take 2 hours to apply and style, under the direction of a Victorian specialist.
As for other aspects of my acting career…I now have an agent and am pursuing commercial, print and broadcasting opportunities.
In short, I have become a working actress in NYC.
