About Kathryn Farley

I am incredibly excited about & deeply devoted to the profession of acting

What sets me apart as an actress is my background in improv comedy and my graduate training in theatre production. I am able to apply the core principles of improvisation to developing dynamic, complex and authentic characters and to understand how my performance serves the overall narrative.

Acting is not my first career. After working for many years as a paralegal specializing in intellectual property law, I obtained a doctorate in Performance Studies from Northwestern University. During my graduate education, I studied with acclaimed theatre artists such as Mary Zimmerman and Frank Galati.

After graduating from Northwestern, I served as a Brittain Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at the Georgia Institute of Technology and stayed on for many years to instruct courses in multimedia theatre and digital arts production.

Once my husband and I retired from academics, we relocated to NYC where I begun to pursue my life-long ambition of becoming a professional actress. I took classes in acting at the Juilliard School and have continued to hone my craft with diverse work experiences and further education.

New York City offers unparalleled opportunities for stage, television and screen acting. As a professional, I am working hard to gain the skills, training and practical experience needed to thrive in the fiercely competitive world of New York acting.
